Resin Masters is a Gold Coast epoxy flooring company based at Pimpama, in the northern growth corridor. We coat garages, living areas, alfresco areas, cafés and warehouses from Ormeau down to Coolangatta. A flake garage floor here runs about $65–$90 per m², or roughly $2,340–$3,240 for a typical double garage, and the work is backed by a 7-year workmanship warranty in writing.
Lift the roller door on a west-facing garage in Helensvale at 3pm in January. The slab is hot. Park a car that’s just come off the M1 and its tyres are hot too, hot enough to soften a cheap coating and pull it up. Live within a few kilometres of the beach and there’s salt in the air as well, which wears a standard topcoat down faster still.
So a floor that would last for years in a shaded inland shed can go yellow, chalky or patchy here inside a couple of summers. The cause is nearly always the spec rather than effort: a topcoat that isn’t UV-stable, or a slab that was never ground or moisture-tested before the first coat.
Our crew works out of Pimpama, so Coomera, Ormeau and Hope Island are a few minutes away and the southern beaches are well under an hour down the M1. This page covers the floors we install, what Gold Coast conditions change about the system, prices by job type, and the suburbs we cover.
The same flake garage system won’t suit a surf club bar or a Coomera marine workshop, so we spec each floor for how the space is used. Start with the group that matches yours.

Outdoor jobs need a different system to garages. Our guide to outdoor epoxy flooring on the Gold Coast explains why.
The resin itself is the same stuff whether it’s going down in Toowoomba or Tugun. What changes on the Gold Coast is what the floor has to put up with, and that decides the primer, the topcoat and how much grit goes in.
Burleigh Heads, Mermaid Beach and Palm Beach get intense UV most of the year, and an open garage door lets it straight onto the slab. Standard epoxy isn’t UV-stable. In direct sun it ambers, then chalks. We finish every Gold Coast floor with a UV-resistant polyaspartic topcoat, including garages that “don’t get much sun”, because the strip inside the door always does.
Within a few kilometres of the water, salt in the air speeds up wear on any topcoat that isn’t built for it. Sand is the other problem. It’s abrasive, and on a glossy floor every grain shows. A flake blend hides it, and a hose-down with fresh water now and then keeps salt from building up on outdoor slabs.
Homes on the canals at Hope Island, Runaway Bay, Broadbeach Waters and Mermaid Waters can have more ground moisture under the slab than a house on a ridge in Pacific Pines. Moisture pushing up through concrete is what lifts a coating from underneath. So we meter-test the slab before quoting the primer. If the reading is high, a moisture-blocking primer adds about $20–$30 per m². Better to know that at the quote than to find a blister in a year.
In a strata building the garage floor is often common property, so check your body corporate by-laws before you book. Ask them in writing; it saves a lot of hassle later. Holiday lets are the opposite problem: the owner wants the floor done between guests. Most garages are walkable the day after we finish and can take a car after two to three days, so a short gap in bookings is usually enough. Tell us the dates when you ask for a quote.
Gold Coast epoxy flooring costs about $50–$90 per m² for a garage in 2026, with solid colour at the bottom and flake at the top. Metallic finishes run $90–$150 per m². A flake double garage comes to roughly $2,340–$3,240, and warehouses over 1,000 m² drop to $35–$50 per m².
Here’s what common Gold Coast jobs come to:
| What You’re Coating | Floor System | Area | Ballpark Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Townhouse garage | Solid colour, $50–$75/m² | 18 m² | $900–$1,350 |
| Family home, two-car garage | Flake, $65–$90/m² | 36 m² | $2,340–$3,240 |
| Three-car garage or boat bay | Flake, $65–$90/m² | 54 m² | $3,510–$4,860 |
| Open-plan living area | Metallic, $90–$150/m² | 30 m² | $2,700–$4,500 |
| Café kitchen | Slip-rated kitchen system, $85–$115/m² | 40 m² | $3,400–$4,600 |
| Warehouse floor | Industrial, $35–$50/m² | 1,000 m² | $35,000–$50,000 |
Patios and pool surrounds are quoted after we see them, because sun exposure, falls and drainage change the system.
What Can Increase Your Quote?
A damp slab needing moisture-blocking primer (about $20–$30 per m² extra), an old coating that must be removed, steps or drains, and difficult access such as a basement car park with a low ceiling can all increase costs. A clean, dry, empty slab sits at the lower end of the range.
Every line, including DIY kits and tiles for comparison, is in our Gold Coast epoxy flooring cost guide.
Here’s how a typical flake garage runs from the first visit to parking the car. Metallic floors and commercial jobs take longer, and we stage big floors so a business can keep trading.
Before we book. We visit, take a moisture reading, ask how old the slab is, and lay colour chips on the floor itself. Flake looks different in garage light than it does on a screen. You get a written quote that lists the grind, repairs, primer, coats and topcoat.
Day 1, morning. Diamond grinding. It opens up the concrete so the coating can bite, and takes off old sealer, paint and oil stains. Cracks and chips get filled.
Day 1, afternoon. Primer goes down, picked to suit the moisture reading, then the coloured base coat. For a flake floor we broadcast flakes into the wet base until it’s fully covered.
Day 2. Loose flake is scraped back, and the UV-resistant polyaspartic topcoat goes on. Outdoor areas and pool edges get grit mixed into this coat.
Day 3. You can walk on it.
Days 4–5. The car can go back in.
Day 7. Fully cured. Heavy toolboxes, trailers and jacks are fine from here.
If a quote squeezes all of that into a single morning, ask which step got left out.

Short version: if you park in the garage every day and want to hose it out, pick flake epoxy with a polyaspartic topcoat. If it’s a shed you barely use, a paint or DIY kit will do for now. Polished concrete and tiles sit in between, and both have catches in a coastal garage.
| Option | Hot Tyres | Sand, Salt and Spills | Wet and Slippery? | Cost Guide |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Flake epoxy + polyaspartic topcoat | Holds up when the slab is ground first | Wipes clean; flake hides grit | Textured topcoat available | $65–$90/m² |
| Polished concrete | No coating to lift | Oil and rust can still mark it | Can be slick when wet | Quoted per job |
| Porcelain tiles | Fine | Grout lines hold sand and grime | Depends on the tile rating | Often over $150/m² laid |
| Rubber mats or snap-together tiles | Fine | Moisture and sand get trapped underneath | Good grip | Quoted per job |
| Garage paint or DIY epoxy kit | Often peels within months to a few years | Stains soak in once it wears | Slick unless grit is added | $22–$50/m² in materials |

Got our outdoor patio sorted before the weekend. The boys were super punctual, easy to deal with, and handled the whole job here in Yarrabilba with zero hassle. Our flake floor looks so amazing. Cheers and Thank you Resin Masters.Posted on Google Akshar VasaniTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had the Resin Masters team out to do my garage floor in Ormeau last week. The old concrete was constantly dusty and had a couple of nasty cracks in it. The boys ground it all back, patched up the cracks, and laid down the full flake epoxy. Honestly looks insane, like a proper showroom. No more dust tracking into the house. Highly recommend these guys if you want a quality finish.
About $50–$75 per m² for solid colour, $65–$90 for flake and $90–$150 for metallic on a typical job. A damp slab adds $20–$30 per m² for the moisture-blocking primer. Very large commercial floors come in lower per m².
Yes, in the right rooms. Garages, laundries, ensuites and open-plan living areas suit it because there are no joints and it’s quick to mop. It feels cool and firm underfoot, which most people like in a Queensland summer, though some add a rug in the lounge. Outdoors, it needs a UV-stable topcoat.
Sun and water. A standard epoxy topcoat yellows in UV, so beachside floors need polyaspartic on top. And gloss gets slippery under wet feet or sandy thongs, so pool surrounds and patios need grit in the final coat. Any epoxy will also fail on a slab that wasn’t ground and moisture-tested first.
Hardware-store kits, Bunnings included, vary by brand. As a guide, DIY materials for a double garage cost about $400–$900. The kit isn’t the hard part, though. Without a diamond grinder the coating sits on smooth, often oily concrete, which is why DIY floors tend to lift where the tyres sit.
Not if the slab is ground and the system is right. Hot-tyre pickup happens when a thin or soft coating softens under a hot tyre and sticks to the rubber. A 100% solids epoxy base on ground concrete, sealed with polyaspartic, is made for it. More on why hot-tyre pickup happens.
Yes. If the garage floor is common property, get body corporate approval first. Then tell us about access: basement clearance, lifts, and where we can park the grinder. Shared basements sometimes need the work done in a set window, which we can plan around.
Ask each one the same things and compare the written answers: how they prep the slab, whether they moisture-test, which topcoat they use where the sun hits, what the warranty covers and for how long, and their QBCC licence number. Then read reviews that name a suburb and a floor type, and ask to see a floor that’s at least a year old. Our guide to choosing an epoxy contractor on the Gold Coast goes further.
Yes: cafés, salons, shops, showrooms, workshops, factory units and warehouses. We plan around trading hours and can do big floors in sections. Commercial kitchens get a slip-rated system. On any commercial quote, ask for the slip-resistance rating to AS 4586.
Indoors, a properly ground and coated floor should last well over a decade. Outdoors, the topcoat wears first. Recoating just the topcoat every few years can keep a patio looking new without redoing the whole floor.
